Active Wash: Tree Sap & Bird Dropping Removal

Seven days ago we launched Permanon Active Wash online. Today, stock is running low.

The reason lands on your bonnet every time you park under a tree.

Spring in Australia brings two of the most damaging contaminants your paint will ever face: tree sap and bird droppings. Here’s why they do so much damage so fast, how to remove them safely, and the paint protection that detailers use to stop them sticking in the first place.

Spring’s Double Hit: Tree Sap and Bird Droppings

🦜 Bird droppings etch paint within hours

Bird droppings contain uric acid. On a hot day, the sun softens your clear coat and the dropping settles in. As the paint cools, the clear coat locks around it.

The result is a dull, etched outline that won’t wash out. On a dark car in summer heat, etching can begin within hours.

🌳 Tree sap bonds tight and traps grit

Sap from gums, pines and jacarandas is sticky, bonds tightly and attracts dust and grit. Wipe it dry and you drag those abrasive particles straight across your paint, leaving fine scratches behind.

Leave either one until the weekend wash and the damage is already done.

Why Active Wash Is the Answer

•       Made for exactly this. Removes tree sap, resin, bird droppings, insect acids, road grime and traffic film.

•       Safe on every finish. pH-balanced and safe on paint, clear coat, glass, rubber and your existing surface sealant. It cleans the mess without stripping your paint protection.

•       No rigorous scrubbing, no scraping. Soak, lift, wipe and rinse.

•       Serious value. One litre of concentrate makes 20 litres of wash.

•       Clean conscience. Biodegradable, zero forever chemicals, no harsh chemical cocktails.

How to Remove Tree Sap and Bird Droppings From Car Paint

1.     Dilute Active Wash at 5–10% in water, or stronger depending on soiling.

2.     Soak a clean microfibre cloth in the solution and lay it over the spot for 3–5 minutes.

3.     Gently lift the softened residue away. Never drag it across the paint.

4.     Wipe and rinse the area clean, then pat dry with a fresh microfibre.

5.     For stubborn sap, repeat the soak with a stronger dilution.

Never use tissues, paper towel or your fingernails. They scratch paint, especially when grit is present.

Lock It In: Paint Protection That Stops the Next Mess Sticking

Cleaning fixes today’s problem. A surface sealant stops tomorrow’s.

Finish with Gold Line PSi+14. Its Si14 nano shield keeps sap and droppings sitting on top of the surface instead of bonding to your clear coat, so the next mess lifts away with a soak. For PPF or wrapped cars, use Silver Line PSi+14.

Why Professional Detailers Use Permanon

Detailers don’t have time for products that slow them down or put a client’s finish at risk. Here’s why Permanon has earned a place in their kits:

•       Faster turnaround. The surface sealant bonds instantly with no buffing or curing time, so more cars get finished each day.

•       Zero risk to the finish. Active Wash is pH-balanced and sealant-safe, and the Si14 sealants bond electrostatically without altering the paint. No re-work, no unhappy clients.

•       One system, every surface. Paint, glass, trim, wraps and PPF are all covered by one clean-and-protect system, which means fewer bottles in the van.

•       Low cost per car. Concentrates dilute down to as little as $10.27/L, protecting margins on every job.

•       Results clients can see. Water beads and dirt rinses off for months, so clients come back for maintenance rather than paint correction.

•       Eco credentials to sell. Biodegradable, zero forever chemicals and no harsh chemical cocktails, which is a real selling point for clients and wash bays alike.
